10-Year-Old Emanne Beasha Gets Mid-Song Standing Ovation On Goosebumps-Inducing 30 Million View “Nessun Dorma” Audition, But Fans Fume At Judges’ Response

10-year-old Emanne Beasha walks onstage at America’s Got Talent, gives a bubbly intro but then blurts out “I’m so nervous.” The youngster charmed the judges, but is this heading for disaster? Luckily for Emanne, she’s got more than an adorable personality – she has the voice of an angel. Emanne went on to deliver a masterclass performance on the aria “Nessun dorma.” The crowd are gobsmacked, and when she hits that climactic high note, the whole crowd gives her a standing ovation – before she even finishes the song.

The vocal climax at 2:30 is really something – every time I hear it I get goosebumps. You can see her proud mum tearing up just afterwards. It was clear to everyone in the crowd that the performance was a slam dunk. However, the judges had different ideas. They praised Emanne’s performance, but none of the judges thought she deserved the golden buzzer. The Music Man readers might be interested to hear that this response made headlines and was a hot topic in the comments below the video among fuming fans.

Emanne’s audition drew 30 million views across multiple YouTube uploads. Fans watching at home were amazed that such a titanic voice came out of such a little girl. Many fans came back to the lack of a golden buzzer, adding comments such as “How did she NOT get a golden buzzer??? I’m more shocked about that fact than I am about her voice” and “She sang one of the most difficult and iconic opera songs so beautifully. How come they didn’t give her the golden buzzer?!!!”

Emanne did later get the recognition fans thought she deserved. The original four judges stuck to their guns, but Jay Leno appeared as a fifth guest judge when Emanne made her second appearance during the judge cuts round. She performed a powerful and emotive rendition of Lucio Dalla’s “Caruso,” again with her signature high notes bowling everyone over. Leno saw what the other judges couldn’t during this performance, and he hit the golden buzzer!

Emanne Beasha was born in Amman, the capital of Jordan, on September 18, 2008, to an American mother and Jordanian father. She began operatic training at age six.
