Robert Irwin reveals exciting plans and opens up about how support from America has completely changed him

Robert Irwin isn’t slowing down after his Dancing With The Stars win.

The 22-year-old wildlife conservationist took to Instagram on Tuesday, Dec. 2 to announce his next project — working at the Crocodile Hunter Lodge at the Australia Zoo.

“It has been quite the passion project that we’ve been working on back home in Australia Zoo,” Robert said of the lodge, which first opened in 2022. “We opened up a beautiful lodge, the Crocodile Hunter Lodge, which has been a way to really properly welcome everybody to our home.”

“The amount of support from everyone in the States lately has just been incredible, and the amount of people who are now heading to the Australia Zoo and coming to visit my home has been really, really cool to see,” he continued.

“Honestly, we wanted to create something so that everybody could have a proper home away from home when you visit us,” he added.

The Crocodile Hunter Lodge, which is inspired by Robert’s late father Steve Irwin, is an “eco-luxury” accommodation nestled in the Australian Zoo and is “inspired by Steve’s life, legacy and love for wild places.”

According to their website, The Crocodile Hunter Lodge features a multi-species habitat home to red kangaroos, emus and koalas. Patrons at the Warrior Restaurant & Bar are able to admire the wildlife from the outdoor patio, and guests driving into the lodge are greeted by an array of animals while checking in for their stay.

“You’re fully immersing yourself, here at the lodge, with everything that the zoo is about,” Robert said. “Not only having a one-on-one experience with wildlife but also giving back to wildlife conservation. At the end of the day, that’s what we’re all about.”
