When the 29-year-old auditioned for the ITV show in 2024, she saw it as one last chance. The music industry had been tough, the work was unstable, and like many performers, she was balancing auditions with what she called a “normal job” just to get by. Walking onto the stage as herself, not as a character, terrified her. But the moment she sang Tomorrow from Annie, everything changed.
Amanda Holden hit the Golden Buzzer, sending Sydnie straight through to the live shows and instantly turning her into a fan favorite. From that point on, viewers were emotionally invested. Social media quickly filled with comments saying the same thing over and over: “If she doesn’t win, something is wrong with the world.”
Throughout the competition, Sydnie delivered powerful, heartfelt performances rooted in her love of musical theatre. Her rendition of Over the Rainbow in the final sealed the deal, earning her the public vote and the 2024 title. When her name was announced as the winner, she stood frozen in disbelief before breaking down in tears, later saying she had “no words” to describe the moment.

The win came with a £250,000 prize and a performance slot at the Royal Variety Performance, but for Sydnie, the biggest reward was stability — something she had never had before. Since winning, she has been careful with her money, placing her winnings into savings with the goal of buying a home one day. She has also returned to school to finish her Level 3 personal training qualification, explaining that it is important to have a backup plan.

Her career, however, has taken off at full speed. Sydnie released her debut album My Way in October, sold out her first New York show at Sony Hall, and toured to packed venues on both sides of the Atlantic. She recently shared how her BGT journey became her personal anthem, reminding her to stay brave, trust her instincts, and keep going.

Looking back, Sydnie says she still feels overwhelmed by the love and support she received from the judges, the production team, and the public. What started as a frightening audition became the moment that changed everything.
For millions of viewers, her story was exactly what Britain’s Got Talent is meant to be about — raw talent, perseverance, and a life transformed. And for Sydnie Christmas, it was only the beginning.
