The beloved son of the late Steve Irwin gave fans a fright whilst performing the show’s team dance.

The incident happened on Tuesday night during the competition’s themed week of Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.

Robert and his dance partner Witney Carson danced the Paso Doble to the iconic track of Icky Thump by The White Stripes.

Their dance wowed the audience and earned them a high score of 38 from the judges.

But it was the mid way through the DWTS team dance that Robert was met with disaster after he choked on confetti as it rained down from above.

Robert was dancing alongside Team Kool and Julianne Hough to the hit track Celebration by Kool & the Gang.

Dressed in school uniforms, the group brought their high-energy routine to a close as confetti rained down across the dance floor.

As Robert slid on the floor for the dance’s finishing moment a piece of confetti accidentally lodged in his throat causing him to choke.

Speaking to Entertainment Tonight about the incident Robert exclaimed: “I Almost died tonight!

“I choked on a piece of confetti after the team dance. I went over to Witney and I think they cut away and I inhaled a piece of confetti.

“I couldn’t breathe and I went over to you (Witney).”

Pro dancer Witney who was stood beside him, quipped: “I didn’t even know that was happening. I would have been a shield.”

Fans took to social media commenting their reactions to the shocking moment, one user said: “The man wrestles crocodiles for a living and almost gets taken out by confetti.”

Another replied: “Honestly this is the most Robert thing that’s happened to him on the show (crying laughing emoji).”

“I shouldn’t laugh but this is hilarious! Poor Robert and Witney had no idea. Protect him at all costs and tone down the confetti,” chimed a third.

“Wait that’s funny but also so scary,” penned a fourth.

Following his DWTS success it has been revealed that Robert is being eyed for some top U.S. modeling campaigns as well as TV shows such as The Bachelor.

A source close to the animal lover has confirmed to The U.S. Sun that Robert is looking to make California a more permanent part of his life.

“Robert has been openly discussing moving to LA, at least part-time.

“He’s being eyed to be a big star and he has a lot of opportunities in Hollywood if he chooses to grab them.

“Heavy hitter agencies are eyeing to sign him. Including CAA and WME,” an insider said of the top two celebrity talent agencies in Los Angeles.

“He’s being considered for fashion campaigns and other TV shows have their sights set on him, including The Traitors.

“ABC execs on set have joked that Robert should be the next Bachelor. Well, it’s not really a joke.

“They would actually kill to cast Robert in the role and have told him that but he’s just too young.”
