Fans of American reality TV know Courtney Hadwin from her insanely viral audition of Otis Redding‘s “Hard to Handle” on Season 13 of “America’s Got Talent.” But viewers of “The Voice Kids UK” are already quite familiar with the 13-year-old rocker. We’ve tracked down Courtney’s original 2017 blind audition from that show (watch above) in which she caused coach Danny Jones to turn his chair around after delivering a stand-out performance of Tina Turner‘s “Nutbush City Limits.”

After her performance of “Nutbush City Limits” in the blinds, Courtney joined Jones’ team where she was soon pitted against fellow artists Eboni Green and Hollie Firmin in the battle rounds. The three kids sang “Dancing in the Street” together and Courtney was singled out and allowed to advance to the next round.
In the semi-finals Courtney sang “I Got You (I Feel Good)” and she was chosen as one of the six artists to advance to the season finale. Her last performance on the show was “And I Am Telling You I’m Not Going,” but it wasn’t good enough to surpass Jess Folley of Team Pixie Lott, whose “Love on Top” made her the winner of the first-ever edition of “The Voice Kids UK.”

“AGT” judge Howie Mandel was so impressed with Courtney’s “Hard to Handle” audition that he pressed his Golden Buzzer for the soft-spoken teen. If Hadwin ends up being the $1 million champ, that would make two victories for Mandel in the past three years. Back in Season 11 his Golden Buzzer winner was preteen ukulele player Grace VanderWaal, who recently released her album “Just the Beginning” and is touring with Imagine Dragons.
