Less than a year ago, Britain’s Got Talent winner Sydnie Christmas was on the verge of walking away from her dream. Multiple setbacks in the music industry had left her disillusioned and ready to give up. But a final leap of faith—applying to BGT one last time—changed everything. Earlier this summer, Sydnie was crowned champion of the ITV talent show, and since then, her career has been moving at an extraordinary pace.

Now, Sydnie is back in the studio, working on her first album of original songs. “This is so exciting. I never thought I would have an album of original songs,” she told Jack Hardwick in Bizarre. “I have been writing since I was a child and never imagined it would see the light of day. Now that I’m an adult, I get to write and find my style. People see me and think: ‘She’s a theatrical singer,’ but that’s not all I do.” Fans can expect a blend of theatrical flair and original compositions, offering a fresh glimpse into Sydnie’s musical identity.
The singer has also been keeping busy with high-profile performances. She recently concluded a successful run playing Cruella de Vil in the West End musical 101 Dalmatians, and she is scheduled to perform at a special show at London’s Adelphi Theatre. “We’re actually filming a show for PBS in America, and it’s fantastic,” Sydnie said. “I’ll be debuting several new songs that people haven’t heard before.”

Over the past year, Sydnie’s career has taken her across the Atlantic, where she performed at music legend David Foster’s 75th birthday bash at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles. Sharing the stage with Oscar winner Jennifer Hudson, five-time Grammy winner Michael Bublé, and Italian singing icon Andrea Bocelli, Sydnie described the experience as “remarkable.” Reflecting on the moment, she told Bizarre: “When I walked into rehearsals and heard Jennifer, I thought it was a dream. Then I saw her—someone I’ve idolised during my career—and I cried.”

Sydnie has maintained close connections with those who supported her rise, particularly BGT judges Amanda Holden and Bruno Tonioli. “Amanda is so lovely to me. She is only a message away if I ever need her. It’s the same with Bruno. They both just want me to do well. They want what’s best. It’s lovely to have people believe in you like that,” she explained.
Beyond performing, Sydnie is carefully planning the staging and song choices for her shows. With sparkling costumes and medleys designed to showcase her vocal range and theatricality, she is leaving no detail to chance. And while her stage and studio work keep her occupied, fans are buzzing about reports of potential big-screen projects, described as “straight out of a Hollywood film script.”

With her first original album underway, major West End performances on the horizon, and exciting Hollywood prospects emerging, Sydnie Christmas is proving that her BGT victory was only the beginning. From almost quitting the industry to sharing stages with global music icons, she is carving out a versatile and ambitious career—one that promises to deliver many more memorable moments for fans worldwide.
