After the heartbreaking performance by Harry, Niall, Louis, and Zayn, the audience believed the show had ended. But then, a voice broke through the shadows:
“Liam once told me that music is how he kept the world close together.”

Ed Sheeran stepped onto the stage, carrying his familiar wooden guitar. No suit, no fanfare — just himself, a friend coming to say goodbye. He sat on the stage steps, directly in front of the four members of One Direction, who silently gazed at Liam’s image, and began to sing “Supermarket Flowers.”

Each line carried the weight of farewell:
“You were an angel in the shape of my mum…”
Ed’s voice grew husky with emotion, and as the song drew to its tender close, he whispered:
“Liam, my brother, you will always be the most beautiful part of our song.”

The stadium remained utterly still. Niall lowered his head, tears streaming down his face; Harry placed a comforting hand on his shoulder; Zayn turned away to wipe his own tears. Behind them, the screen displayed the words:
“In loving memory of Liam Payne — Forever one of us.”
As Ed finished, he stood, gently setting his guitar beside Liam’s photograph, and spoke softly:
“His music never stopped. It just turned into light.”
At that moment, tens of thousands of phone lights illuminated Wembley, covering the stadium like a sky of stars, as if the entire world were singing along — a tribute to the friend they would forever remember.
